The confidence in their own fitness levels shone through the Active8 at Beach Bootcamp today. Steve due to work and Nick with family commitments couldn't make it but the other 6 were on the Beach first, desperate for another tough session and they certainly got it!! A relentless 45 minute workout of strength, speed and stamina where even my hardened regulars found tough.
Seeing Claire, Jacqui and Dawn effort throughout was a real tonic for me.
Like last week after the workout they all ran/walked up and down King Edwards Bay steps 5 times, another superb effort.
Tonight i had all 8 working hard in the gym and one by one i sent them to run 4 times around astro pitch sprinting the lengths and walk/jogging the widths. This was extremely hard. As they fatigued i sent them out 2 at a time to push each other along even harder. I wanted effort and speed with every sprint.
The attitude throughout the workout was brilliant and they all pushed each other along really well. Once again Claire, Dawn and Jacqui worked brilliantly with the men pushing them hard!
The second night in a row and tonight was top half pushed to exhaustion.
I had all 8 outside with dumbbells, the weight being relative to their strength - the session entailed all completing the same exercise using the dumbbells to exhaustion or until i saw their technique fail, they then dropped the weights and ran hard round the astro pitch then back onto the next exercise. This was one of the toughest sessions they have taken part in especially after the previous nights workout.
Its tough pushing your mind and body to those sorts of limits but over the weeks the 8 have learned to focus and dig deep and they certainly did that tonight. Steve, Dan, Nick, Claire, Jacqui and Ian fought hard and loved the challenge. Dawn realised she could push much further than she thought during tonight's session and Emma worked hard on the strength side but still struggled to focus and keep the intensity throughout the whole session.
Brilliant workout where they all fought body and mind throughout. I think they all left very proud of themselves.
