Supermac for Toon hotseat?
Could Supermac be leaving the Legends?
With rumours that Kevin Keegan has again quit Newcastle United, Paddy Power have installed Supermac as 100/1 to take over the St James Park hotseat.
Alan Shearer is the 9/4 favourite to be King Kev's permanent replacement. Of course, Shearer has seemingly turned down so many managerial offers for the comfort of the Match of the Day studio. There are many other names likely to be in contention.
Newcastle's executive director Dennis Wise is the second favourite at 5/1 with Slaven Bilic at 9/1 and former Geordie target Harry Redknapp 25/1. Deportivo La Coruna's manager Javier Irureta is 40/1 to link up with the two players Newcastle have signed from his club in the last fortnight.
Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: "It seems the curse of Newcastle has struck again but there'll be no shortage of suitors willing to take over the popular club. Whilst Shearer is once again favourite he's got previous for turning down his club and the race could be wide open. Punters may be reluctant to have their fingers burnt by Shearer again"
Former managers Sam Allardyce, Ruud Gullit and Kenny Dalglish are 66/1, 50/1 and 40/1, respectively.
