Steve Jordan

Hi, I’m Steve – and like most people in radio, I started behind the scenes, nowhere near a microphone, so I could cause the minimum amount of damage! I blagged my way into my local station in Hull, Viking FM, at just 15 years old, answering phones for presenters who didn’t want to talk to their listeners!
On leaving school, I became a postman, while in my spare time doing pretend shows in my bedroom hoping my mum wasn’t stood outside listening! From one of those tapes, I got my break at Lincs FM in Lincoln, and from there, have never looked back, moving to Viking FM, Century Radio in Nottingham, Leicester Sound, Magic, KCFM in Hull and now here at Real Radio. I’ve also worked in television, as a continuity announcer on British Eurosport.
If you go shopping in Asda you may also hear me on their in-store radio station, and I also work for Hull City FC as the PA announcer – which meant that a couple of years back, I got to sing on the Wembley pitch to wind the fans up at the play-off final which got us into the Premier League!
Oh – and if you’re ever on YouTube, you MUSN’T do a search for ‘Steve Jordan oops’ – it’s very rude!
