Justin Lockwood
Justin started off making tea at a radio station in Yorkshire in the 90’s. He wasn’t very good at it.. so they gave him a full time job instead… and let someone else make it!
He lived in Northumberland for 7 years before moving back to Yorkshire in 2007 to look after News and Sport at our sister station there!
He’s rubbish at golf… but likes a beer afterwards
He fancies a move back North at some stage but lives near Wakefield with his wife and 2 children, Alfie who’s 4 and Jersey 1.
He loves 24… Jack Bauer is his hero!

What is the story you have covered that you are most proud of?
Covering Alan Shearer’s testimonial was amazing… so many different aspects to his career and so many people to interview… we even had Ant and Dec on the show. The most moving part of the programme was Jack Hixon though… he’s the men credited with discovering Alan Shearer. His interview was immense.
What is your most embarrassing on-air moment?
I once asked Ryan Giggs how it felt to pull on an England shirt? Wishful thinking!!
When you were a child - what did you want to be when you grew up?
A doctor… think Doogie Howser had something to do with it
What else do you do apart from commentating on Newcastle United for Real Radio?
I look after the news and sports team at Real Radio’s sister station in Yorkshire
When you tell people that you are a journalist, what reaction do you get?
Always get asked “what’s happening at the toon – are we signing anyone?”
How do you like spending your days off?
Corny answer I know… but spending time with my family.

Easy…. PELE…. I was proper star-struck… a living legend.
What is the toughest thing you have been asked to do as part of your job?
Watch Newcastle get relegated…. Terrible!

What was your nickname at school and why?
Tegs – I was the spitting image of the kid off Grange Hill

Jeff Stelling – Soccer Saturday - enough said
