Mark Knopfler, one of the most respected finger-guitarists in the world, returns to the live arena with his ninth solo album, Get Lucky.

The Dire Straits mainman has never stopped, even when the band split in 1995. Instead, this train kept a’rollin, and with 12 Straits releases, seven soundtrack albums and collaborations with big names including Bob Dylan, BB King, James Taylor and John Fogerty, the OBE and Grammy winner has always kept himself busy.

His latest release is a blend of his musical influences and life experience – an audio biography, if you will. Mark’s new set of songs tell stories of the travelling folk he met when he was young, the people he met when he hit the road himself, the Albion trucks he saw being built, and the uncle he never met who died in the Second World War, aged 20.

But it’s not all about the new tracks – Mark’s dedicated to his audience and knows we want to hear the classics. He says: “The old Straits songs are signposts for people’s lives. I play them differently here and there but there are bits you need to do or the world’s not right for people. I like playing the old songs – I wrote them and people like to hear them.”

Hear them, along with Mark’s new material.

Tickets go onsale Friday 11th September at 9am.
