Help For Heroes Day - 28th September
Help for Heroes Day is returning on 28th September and we want it to be the biggest and best there's ever been! Every year we dedicate an entire day to crazy and hilarious ideas, daring activities, brilliant bravado and all with the help of you and a few of our famous friends.
We'll also be bringing back our famous Help For Heroes Day Auction - offering you exclusive chances to get money-can't-buy items with all the proceeds going towards supporting the wounded.
It's all in support for the Help For Heroes charity - providing direct, practical support to wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, veterans, and their families. This is provided through grants to individuals and other Service charities, capital build projects and support for life at four Recovery Centres across the UK.
Find out how to donate using the links to the right and find some fundraising ideas to kickstart your own efforts too.
Remember, it's not about the politics, it's about the people.
We'll be bringing you more from local soldiers in the next few weeks. Take a glimpse at the work H4H in the video below.
"It's about the 'blokes', our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it's about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It's about Ben, it's about Steven and Andy and Mark, it's about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."- Bryn Parry, 30th September 2007
