How does it work

Each morning at 8am Gary and Lisa will ask a topical question and invite listeners to call our studio number (0845 002 11 00) with the answer. A caller will be chosen at random and if they answer the question correctly they are through to play for the chance to win £1000 on-air.

In the studio Gary and Lisa have a vending machine with twelve slots. Each day the vending machine will be filled randomly with 11 bars of chocolate and £1000

The contestant who is picked at random after correctly answering the qualifying question will choose a Vending Machine slot number (1 to 12) and a pound will be dispensed into the Vending Machine.

Whatever falls from that slot is the contestants prize. It could be a bar of chocolate or it could be… £1000!

• Gary and Lisa do not know where the items are placed in the Vending Machine. Producer Mac from the Real Radio Breakfast Show will load the Vending machine and send an email prior to the competition with the details to the GMG Director of Compliance to ensure the competition is run fairly
• To be eligible to play The 8:15 Vending Machine you must be 16 years or over
• Callers are allowed to enter and play as often as they like up until they have won some cash. For the avoidance of doubt, any player can only win once in the year of 2012.
