Meridian Delta, established in 1998, is a marketing and data company based in the heart of Newcastle.
What we do is work with other companies to find potential buyers for their products and services. Once we’ve identified them, our in-house creative team puts together an attractive, response-driven advert to get our customers’ phones ringing. We’ve done this with over 13,000 companies since we launched.
Customer satisfaction is vitally important to us – there’s plenty of competition out there and we’ve got to prove that we’re the best time and time again. We’re doing something right because 44% of our sales are to existing customers.
We’re members of the Direct Marketing Association and accredited to ISO 9001:2008 standards. Everything we do from contacting customers, sourcing data and designing adverts starts with quality.

Description of role
The role is for an outbound business-to-business telesales advisor. The service for sale is a joint data and marketing package designed primarily for small to medium sized enterprises.
Hours, days and location of work
9am-5pm Monday to Friday. The break times of 10 minutes at 10.30am, 2.15pm and 3.30pm and of 45 minutes at 12.30pm.
There are five days’ worth of classroom training when new colleagues first begin.
Training then takes place within the team setting actively calling new and prospective customers. Assistance is available at all times from all of a new colleague’s team mates.
£18,000 rising to £20,000 (usually in month 3-4 after hitting targets) rising to £22,500 (usually in month 6-7 after hitting targets)
Figures are based on gross profit (GP) generated for the business. Commissions become payable after £5,000 of GP has been generated in a four-week month (or £6,250 in a five week month).
The amount of commission is earned on a weekly basis. In a week, you will earn…
£1,250-£1,749 - £75 bonus
£1,750-£2,749 – £250 bonus + 10% commission between these figures
£2,750 and upwards - £500 bonus + 12.5% commission above this figure
Over the course of a month, commission totals from individual weeks will be totalled to produce your actual commission payout.
For example, in a four-week month, if you achieved £1,750 in Week 1, £1,250 in Week 2, £1,000 in Week 3 and £2,750 in Week 4, your accrued commissions would be £250, £75, £0 and £500, giving a month end total of £825.
In four week months, if you achieve between £6,500 to £7,249, you receive an additional bonus of £250. If you bring in more than £7,250 GP, there is an additional bonus of £500.
Staff are expected to be on the phone for 31% of the working day.
There are 20 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays. 5 of the holiday days must be taken over the Christmas period when the business is closed.
Staff can be paid….
• Weekly – every Wednesday
• Fortnightly – every second and last Wednesday
• Monthly – the last Wednesday of every month
Staff Loan Fund
Staff can normally borrow up to 3 weeks’ basic pay if staff find themselves in need. The company would prefer staff approach it than anyone else for small loans.
Repayments are worked out on a case-by-case basis but the average repayment time is 3 months. There is no interest payable on staff loans.
Staff and Team Incentives
Daily and weekly competitions with cash incentives are a regular feature of working life at Meridian Delta. On the last Friday of every month, the well-attended company night out offers you a great chance to meet colleagues and develop friendships with them. We work very hard but we all get on very well and enjoy letting our hair down with each other.
